Thirupulingudi Divyadesam is located on the Northern Banks of Tamaraibarani, where Lord Kaasini Venthar is blessing in a Bhujanga Sayanam Posture facing East along with Sridevi Nachiyar  and Bhoodevi Nachiyar by his either side. Devotees can worship only one feet of the Almighty in the sanctum sanctorum and both of the Feet of " Bhoomi Paalar" can be worshipped from a side window opening while goes around the temple.Thirupulingudi Divyadesam is the temple for "Budhan Dhosa Parikara Sthalam".

Once Bhoomidevi Nachiyar felt that the Almighty was very fond to Sridevi as He was spending more time with her. Angered at being left out alone, Bhoodevi hid herself in the paadhalalogam causing draught and darkness everywhere. Reasoning out that she was as dear as Sridevi, Lord Vishnu brought her back from the Nether World and gave darshan here at Pulingudi. As he brought back Bhoo devi here, the Almighty  is being worshipped as ‘Bhoomi Paalar’. The uniqueness of this temple is that Adiseshan and Lord Brahma idols were made out of a single stone. Nachiyars are blessing in Her Gigantic postures here in Thirupulingudi. There is no practice of offering "Sataari" here.

Once when Ramujar was going to Thirukurugoor to meet Nammalwar, he crossed this place. He was no idea about the direction and the distance to tThirukurugoor. He saw one girl and asked her about the details to reach Thirukurugoor. By seeing the Sree Vaishnava Saint, the girl bowed to Ramanujar and recited some pasurams of Nammalwar and also told him that from ther Thirukurugoor is in a earshot distnace. By seeing a small girl reciting Nammalwar's Pasurams, Ramanujar fell at her feet as he thought that the Almighty Himself came as a girl to show the place of Nammalwar.
